We’ve heard a very credible rumour that the new Italjet Dragster 500GP super scooter will now be powered by a twin-cylinder engine, rather than the single seen on the show concept in Milan last autumn.
Development of the very sexy-looking machine is currently being ramped up at the Bologna factory and is taking precedence over the electric E01. The Italian firm are in talks with a couple of engine suppliers and we’re told the capacity will be higher than 500.
The R&D team are also altering the ergonomics, with a slightly lower handlebar position than has been seen on the images so far, the seat will also be redesigned to make it better for longer journeys.
The 500GP is due for release in mid-2024 and we’re likely to see a close-to-production-ready machine this autumn. Keep checking the Italjet website if you want to know more.
