The UK division of electric scooter company NIU will be supplying paddock scooters to Rapid CDH Racing for this year’s British Superbikes.
The team will be using NIU MQi GT EVO scooters to get around the paddock and circuit during race meetings.
Drew Irvine, NIU UK Brand Manager, said: “We’re really excited to become a part of the Rapid CDH Racing family and support the team with their 2023 season.”
“Being able to support the Rapid CDH teams 2023 racing season while driving down the net-emissions volume of UK motorcycle racing, is something which NIU takes great pride in being part of.”
“Motorcycle racing is a sport which currently relies on fossil fuels to maximise performance and entertainment value and we at NIU understand that electric technology is not yet at that racing level. However, by introducing more electric transport into the supporting functions, we can drive down the environmental impact of the sport while keeping the same value and traditions which the spectators love.”
2022 British GP2 Champion, Liam Delves is stepping up to the premier BSB class for this season on his Kawasaki ZX-10RR and after some encouraging winter training and development it looks like being a good season for the team.
Greener racing
Dean Hipwell, Rapid CDH Team Manager, said: “We are pleased to announce our partnership with NIU Electric Mobility for the 2023 BSB Season. NIU are providing great quality scooters which greatly support the Net Zero agenda, which we all need to work towards. The MQi GT EVO has seriously impressed us with its power, rideability, power modes and range.
I wonder if they will sponsor Team Sluk at the endurance events ..providing a couple of pit bikes …rude not to ask 😉
We prefer to keep it 100% 2-stroke in endurance 🙂
