VFM/Red Funnel Isle of Wight competition winner | NEWS

Thanks to everybody who took part in our recent Isle of Wight scooter rally photo competition. It was kindly sponsored by VFM and Red Funnel Ferries.

We had some fantastic images sent in depicting many decades of this prestigious event.

Our winner is…

After much deliberation, the lovely Tori from VFM has chosen the image above as her favourite photo (which, incidentally, I’d already chosen as my favourite). It was sent in by Karl “Stana” Stanton who said it “Has a touch of Mad Max about it” and we have to agree, 1980s scooter rallies were a moment in time.

Queuing for the ferry. I liked the caption on the side of the lorry and thought, “Tough toys for overgrown toddlers.”

It may look like a scooter but, on this occasion, it was a mobile bar! The box on the back contained a selection of cider, lager, red wine, white wine, gin and tonic and of course, a selection of bar snacks!
I was very popular on the ferry 😂
