SIP Scootershop have announced the date for their 2026 Open Day, and as usual, it’s going to be huge!

Saturday, May 16th, is the date you need to put in your diary. We were there last year and made a weekend of it, I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best scooter weekend of the year for me. So, if you read my report last year and have been thinking about going, I urge you to get it booked.

What to expect

  • Crispy pizza from the wood-fired Ape
  • Food and drink from our Italian SIPERIA café bar
  • Parts and used scooter market
  • NEW: 12 noon Snails Race by The Snails, Leuk (CH)
  • Performance measurements on a calibrated P4 Amerschläger test bench for a voluntary donation of €10
  • 2 p.m.: 100hp Challenge: win €1000
  • 4 p.m. Custom show
  • Photo wall for all visitors
  • Guided tours of logistics and administration
  • Bouncy castle for children
  • Club and brand stands
  • Live DJ sound

German tuning and custom

Aside from the attractions above, you’ll also be treated to an up-close look at all those lovely German scooters. Despite very strict anti-tampering rules in Germany, virtually every scooter that arrives is heavily tuned and modified. If you love Vespas, you’ll love seeing most of the scooters in attendance. Of course, Lambrettas are also more than welcome to visit, but Vespa rules the roost.

Getting there

If you’re treating this as a weekend away, you can fly into Memminghem or Munich from many UK airports.

On the Thursday before the event, it’s Ascension Day in Germany, which is a public holiday, and Munich is hosting Vespa Corso. It would be worth flying into Munich early just to witness the impressive spectacle before heading closer to SIP (about an hour or so away).

The area around SIP and the City of Landsburg is stunning and well worth an extra day or two whilst you’re there.
