This weekend (April 6th-7th) sees the 2024 BSSO Scooter Racing Championship kicking off at Croft for a two-day meeting.

The circuit is located close to the North East’s Lambretta stronghold, Darlington – so it usually attracts a good crowd of spectators. Tickets are available online in advance for £16.50 per day, under 15s are free.

Hoping to hold on to his #1  plate is 2023 BSSO Champion Justin Price. Steve Wright (#1 above) is the current Group 6 champion but in scooter racing anything can happen and the season is likely to be as hard-fought and action-packed as ever.

SLUK coverage

Last year’s SLUK Rookie, Ben Readings (#65 at the top of the page) will be bringing us his race report for the Croft meeting.

We’ve also got a new rookie for 2024, 14-year-old George Fielder. He’ll be riding a pink Vespa PK in Group 4E (alongside his dad, Rob) but due to him still being at school, he’s having to miss a couple of meetings (including Croft). Racing is important but education is importanter. We’ll let George introduce himself before the 2nd round at Lydden on April 20th-21st.
