Big 7 date/venue change
Update 17th March
Due to huge price increases imposed by the usual Hop Farm venue, the date and venue for the Big 7 rally have had to be changed. The event will now take place at the East of England Showground in Ardingly West Sussex over the weekend of 14th-16th July.
All tickets purchased through Skiddle will be automatically transferred to the new venue. If you are unable to attend on the new dates you can contact Skiddle for a refund on 0333 3010101.
All glamping bookings will also be transferred, if you are unable to attend you can contact Honeybells on 07817 672502 for a refund.
We’re coming to you live from Southport where the BSRA meeting has just taken place to decide the dates and venues for next year’s National Scooter Rallies.
In 2023 there will be eight National Rallies on the calendar, starting with the traditional bi-annual visit to Scarborough at Easter.
Euro Lambretta
One notable absence is Cleethorpes, that’s partly because the LCGB are hosting Euro Lambretta in Peterborough over the weekend of 6th-9th July, which is the usual Cleethorpes date.
There is one exciting new addition though, that’s Aberystwyth in South Wales. This event was scheduled for 2021 but was cancelled due to Covid. It’s on for next summer though and it’s not only a beautiful scenic ride but it’s also a lovely little town.
Weston Super Mare will be held on 29th April to the 1st of May and the South West Scooter Clubs have already said that date won’t change, even if the King’s Coronation means the official May Day Bank Holiday is moved forward by a week.
A surprise change for the final BSRA event is a move from Southport to Llandudno. This move means the traditional end of year trade & custom show can be back under the same roof again.
Other notable non National dates
• British Vespa Days will be held in Northern Ireland on the 4th-6th of August
• Mersea Island will be celebrating their 30th anniversary on 1st-2nd September.
