Having already launched the 2023 VESPA GTS range in Rome a few weeks ago* there’s not too much for Vespa fans to get excited about at this year’s prestigious EICMA show.
*NONE of the UK scooter press were invited or even told about the new model until after it had happened!! We will have a road test from the launch on SLUK very soon though…
One thing that has caught our eye at the show though is the new matt beige (unsure of the actual colour name) GTV with its slightly outrageous orange screen. It’s a complete contrast to the usual GTV with small clear screen and classic looks.
The GTV also has a different horncasting with “Sporty lateral slats” up the sides. The handlebars, legshield trim, pegs, switchgear and chrome trims have all been replaced with black to accentuate the looks. According to the Piaggio press release the scooter is “The most authentically sporty Vespa ever.”
Orange panel graphics and detailing to the wheel rims and horncast, plus a two tone seat complete the look.
Instrumentation has gone full digital and of course the lighting is LED.
Primavera Colour Vibe
The modern Vespa Primavera will be available in this special edition colour scheme with two-tone paintwork in a fetching Arancio Impulsivo and Bianco Innocente with footboards, graphics and wheels in Ottanio, a bold shade of turquoise.
Like the GTV, this model also features lots of blacked out detailing, although Piaggio have kept the chrome switchgear surrounds and mirrors.
It’s certainly giving off a Colour Vibe!
Vespa 946 Anniversario
I think this shade of Vespa green really suits the 10th anniversary edition of the Vespa 946. According to the press release the “Anniversary sports a shade which is soft and velvety but has a hint of acidity that makes it highly original.”
Apparently this shade is bang on trend after being part of the Spring/Summer 2023 fashion collections at the New York, London and Milan Fashion Weeks. The colour appears to be pearlescent at first “But then gains depth with illumination.”
We’ll all be wearing it next year darling…
