Three iconic Honda 125s have had a Euro 5+ makeover for 2025. The Super Cub, Dax and Monkey are fun-looking but very useful 125s.
For this model year, they all get upgraded to Euro 5+ emissions compliance and also receive a few upgrades and new accessories.
ST125 Dax
This model was reintroduced in 2023 as a sympathetic update of the 60s original. With its iconic T-shaped frame, tall handlebars and chunky 12-inch wheels it looks every bit the classic small motorcycle.
Upgrades for 2025 include an uprated catalyser, new ECU settings and an additional OBD-2 sensor (On Board Diagnostics) to ensure it complies with present and future emissions regulations.
A new colour (Pearl Shining Black) has been added to the existing Pearl Cadet Grey and Pearl Glittering Blue choices.
Z125 Monkey
As well as receiving similar engine updates, the Monkey also receives three new colour combinations. They are Sheen Silver Metallic and Pearl Shining Black, Millenium Red and Pearl Himalayas White, and Turmeric Yellow and Knight Silver Metallic – each injecting a unique character into the bike.
Super Cub C125
The Cub was first born in 1958 and can boast of being the most-produced vehicle ever with over 100 million (that milestone was reached back in 2017) models being built. Its success is likely to carry on for a long time yet.
As with the others, the Cub’s engine has also been made Euro 5+ compliant. It still retains its semi-auto 4-speed gearbox and easy-to-live with step-thru design.
Efficient and durable, the Super Cub C125’s 124cc air-cooled engine combines the bottom-end (with re-designed crankcases) of the current Japanese-market C110 with the SOHC two-valve cylinder head and top-end of the MSX Grom. The bore is set at 50mm, stroke at 63.1mm with a compression ratio of 10.0:1. Peak power of 9.65bhp (a 0.13bhp increase) arrives @ 7,500rpm, with peak torque of 10.4Nm @ 6,250rpm.
Sole colour
For 2025, the iconic silhouette is emphasised through a revised sole colour option of Pearl Bosphorus Blue over Pearl Sugarcane Beige, complemented by a contrasting red leather seat.

20 million units per year
Honda can currently produce more than 20 million units of motorcycles annually at 37 production facilities in 23 countries and territories. They’re delivered to customers through more than 30,000 Honda motorcycle dealership locations around the World. Honda are on track to reach the 500-million-unit milestone for cumulative global motorcycle production. For the current fiscal year ending March 31, 2025 (FY2025), Honda global motorcycle unit sales are expected to reach 20.2 million units, which is approximately a 40% share of global motorcycle sales.
85% Asian market
The Asian market, including India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, accounts for 85% of global unit sales (17.17 million units). Japan, Europe and the U.S. markets account for 6% (1.2 million units). In the calendar year 2024, Honda motorcycle sales set an all-time record in 37 countries and territories.
