Time certainly flies, myself and Sticky were young whipper snappers back in 2016 when we launched ScooterLab to an unsuspecting worldwide audience.

The Tag Aqua Racer above, owned and ridden by Stefan Hall, was the first scooter to get a SLUK feature.

Wing and a prayer

ScooterLab came about after we became disillusioned with the freelance world of paper magazines. So, on a wing and a prayer, we jacked it all in, hoping to bring something new to the world of scooter media. We lost our livelihoods, created our own niche, and quickly gathered a merry band of SLUK followers and supporters.

Sticky left SLUK in 2017 and is currently writing edition 4 of his Lambretta Spanner’s Manual

10 years later…

Some things have changed and evolved since our inception, as you’d expect.

I bought Sticky out of the partnership after 18 months, so he could concentrate on writing books, inventing things and lounging around in his dressing gown. Of course, he still contributes to SLUK whenever he gets the chance.

His wife, Tracy, was also part of the team in the beginning; she looked after our (lack of) finances. My other half, Linsey, has always been behind me as well, usually telling me to get a proper job…
