As we all make our final preparations for the festive season it’s hard to imagine that less than 24 hours’ drive away fellow Europeans are still under attack on a daily and nightly basis.
Ukraine has been at war for over 300 days and thousands of families are facing Christmas without power or water, thanks to continued bombardments on their country’s infrastructure.
German scooter giants, SIP have just completed a mission to spread a little joy at this special time of year.
A friend of the company, Ruslan Gerber works for a missionary charity, Youth With a Mission. Ruslan asked SIP’s MD, Alex if he could have 100 boxes. Intrigued, Alex asked why and was told it was to fill with food and supplies to take to Ukraine. Alex immediately decided he’d like to help out and SIP also paid €3000 for some essential supplies from Aldi.
The SIP team, along with helpers from Abgedreht, filled 200 boxes with long-lasting foodstuffs like pasta, tuna, flour, canned meat and sugar and loaded them into SIP’s Sprinter. All the SIP team also signed individual Christmas cards with a personal greeting.
A team of four from Youth With A Mission set off on December 14th to deliver the much-needed provisions direct to the front line, along with four electricity generators and warm insoles for shoes.
