First exhibits announced
As the booking of exhibits, traders and special guests gather pace behind the scenes of the second Scooter Expo (taking place on 21 May 2023), we are pleased to announce the first scooters that will be shown.
As many will recall, the legendary ‘Chuckles’ Swonnell was booked to be our first guest speaker at the inaugural ScooterExpo back in 2019. Sadly he was taken ill shortly before the event and passed away the following year.
To commemorate our friend and lifelong scooterist, Chuck, we plan to have four of his old scooters on display. Those scooters are now owned by fellow scooterists and his friends. Chuck rode both Lambretta and Vespa scooters all over the UK and Europe. On display, we plan to have his old Vespa PX, Lambretta Super Starstream, Lui and also the TV175 Series 2 he owned from new in 1961. He was a member of both the Vespa Club of Britain and Lambretta Club GB. Chuck was also the Time Keeper for the Lambretta Club for many years at their sporting events. This was a role commemorated on a banner produced by and displayed by the London Lambretta Club at the scooter endurance races they have entered.
