Three times World Champion, Loris Capirossi is selling off his own personal, limited edition, Denis Maiorino-built Vespa smallframe.
Italian Loris was in MotoGP during the golden era of two-stroke racing. He was World 125cc Champion at the age of just 17, he won it again before moving up to 250s in 1992. In 1995 he moved up to the premier class for two seasons, then back to 250s where he won the 1998 championship. In 2000 he was back on a 500 with Honda before moving to Ducati, ending up with a fourth place overall and third in the 2006 season. Loris finished his racing career after riding for Suzuki and then Pramac in 2011.
The boss of Vespa
Aside from racing, Loris has always enjoyed his own personal motorcycles and has a mint RD350 in his collection, as well as this very special Vespa smallframe. It’s one of just ten, built by “The boss of Vespa” Denys Maiorino. You can see the full spec list below, or see more in the video above (it’s in Italian though) but it’s pretty special.

How to bid
The Italian online auction is running now with a guide price of €16,000-€18,000. It currently stands at €11,000 (£9,273). The scooter is located in Monaco with Loris and the winning bidder will be put in touch to go and collect it.
