The BSRA National Scooter Rallies don’t start until Easter (an early one this year at the end of March) but we’ve already seen Portrush selling out months in advance.

Margate is going to be advance ticket only (they go on sale at midnight tonight) so we thought we’d put all the event and ticket info into one handy feature with links to the official ticket site where possible.

Update: This scam comment was put on to the Facebook share of this post within 5 minutes…

Beware of scam ticket sellers

There are numerous fake ticket sellers and scams going around on social media. Quite often, as soon as the word ‘Ticket’ is posted on Facebook, random people will comment that they have spare tickets to sell for the event.

We advise you to only buy tickets from the official websites or event pages unless you know the person who is ‘selling’ a ticket is 100% genuine. Quite often tickets are offered for sale before they even go on sale, usually by people using cloned or fake profiles. Buyer beware!

Flyer for the 2024 Whitby National Scooter Rally with ticket info.

BSRA #1 – Whitby: March 29th-April 1st

Organised by VFM, Whitby has its evening entertainment and Parts Fair & Custom Show in the Whitby Pavilion Complex. Weekend tickets are on sale now priced at just £18. That gets you entry into the do on Friday and Saturday nights, plus the custom show. Full details can be found on the flyer above.

A smaller Sunday night do is being put on by Whitby Soul Club at The Chapel on the Hill (more info to follow).

BSRA #2 – Portrush: April 12th-14th **SOLD OUT**

Although the Damsels in Distress have been holding their club rally in Portrush for many years, this is the first time they’ve stepped it up to become a BSRA National (in fact it’s the first-ever National in Northern Ireland) and it sold out pretty quickly! Originally it was going to be an 800-capacity event but after some juggling at the venue it was increased to 900 and the extra batch of tickets sold out on their day of release.

Not got a ticket?

It’s worth keeping an eye on the Portrush event page as it gets closer, tickets are likely to become available closer to the time as people invariably drop out.

Of course, even if you can’t get in the do at night there’s nothing stopping you from sampling the fine Irish hospitality around the pretty little harbour town. If you are considering sailing from the mainland you’d better be quick though. The popular ferry routes are already sold out. Give Nutt Travel a ring though and they may be able to help, they also give an upgrade on your ticket if you mention the scooter rally.

BSRA #3 Tenby: May 3rd-5th

Next up is the stunning seaside town of Tenby, this event is put on by Scooter Collective South Wales.

Get your tickets here

Tickets cost £18 in advance for the full weekend. Tenby’s entertainment takes place over four venues and gets very busy so it’s wise to buy advance tickets. The weekend ticket gets you three nights of entertainment and the Custom Show/Trade Show (held at Tenby United Rugby Club)

Campsite

Accommodation soon sells out in Tenby but there is a campsite (also held at and run by the Rugby Club). It’s less than a mile from town and costs £15 for the weekend. There’s no need to book to camp if arriving by scooter (motorhomes do need to book though, as space is limited). The site has toilets, showers, a cafe and a bar.

BSRA #4 – Kelso: 24th-26th May

The Scottish Number Ones aren’t doing advance tickets for Kelso this year but there’s loads of space at the Showground site so no need to worry about it being too busy. However, car/van/motorhome space is limited so you will need to book in advance if you aren’t travelling by scooter. There’s no event page or flyer yet for Kelso.

Sandbay Scooter Rally: 31st May-2nd June

This one isn’t a National but is being put on by the South West Scooter Clubs at a holiday park in Weston-Super-Mare. You can pay when you get there for this one at £25 for a weekend ticket. More info here.

BSRA #5 – Big 7 Margate: 21st-23rd June

The last time we had a National in Margate was way back in 2007. Big 7 Scooter Club are running the event for the first time this year and it promises to be a cracker.

Ticket only?

This is a ticket-only event, if you want to go to the do or camp on the official campsite you must buy your tickets in advance – it’s highly likely this one will sell out. Tickets go on sale at midnight Tonight (February  6th) through the Big 7 website. A weekend entertainment ticket costs £30, or £35 including camping. The Dreamland venue has a 2000 capacity limit and there is space for 600 camping at Palm Bay Green.

BSRA #6 – Newark: July 5th-7th

Celebrating its 40th anniversary and a decade since our last visit, Newark is held on the massive Showground venue. As we write this there’s no flyer or ticket info but you will be able to pay on the gate for this one and camping space won’t be a problem. You can find out more at the East Midlands Scooter Alliance Facebook page.

Flyer for the 2024 scooter rally to Weymouth with ticket info. Featuring a blue Lambretta GP.

BSRA #7 -Weymouth: July 19th-21st

Two years ago the South West Scooter Clubs took us back to Weymouth for the first time since the early 1980s and it really was a fantastic rally. We’re back again in July and it’s likely to be busier than it was just after Covid restrictions were lifted in 2022.

Pay on arrival

There are no advance tickets for this one but a weekend camping and entertainment pass will cost you £30 on arrival (traders and custom show are on site and are included). If you’re camping for Saturday only it’s £20 including the do, or if you just want the entertainment it’s £20 for both nights – or £10 a night. More info on the Weymouth rally page.

Flyer for the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally 2024 featuring a Lambretta Series 2 Pacemaker. With details on entertainment and tickets.

BSRA #8 – The Isle of Wight: 22nd-26th August

It’s the big one! Four nights of entertainment from the VFM crew at Sandown Airport, with live bands including The Beat and Psychobilly rebels The Highliners (plus others).

Advance tickets

Although this one will never sell out due to the size of the campsite you can save a fiver by getting your tickets in advance. A weekend ticket costs £30 and can be bought now from the VFM website.

Glamping/motorhome?

Glamping is also available (details on the flyer above) and if you’re taking a campervan you need to book in advance.

Mersea Island: 30th-31st August **SOLD OUT**

Although this isn’t a National Rally, Mersea Island is still a proper scooter rally with everything you need on one site. The 2000 tickets for this one sold out in less than 36 hours. Keep your eye on their Facebook page though closer to the time and you might get lucky if people drop out. More info on the rally can also be found on the dedicated Mersea website.

Event flyer for the 2024 scooter rally to Woolacombe with entertainment and ticket info.

BSRA #9 – Woolacombe: September 20th-23rd

Woolacombe tickets go on sale on May 1st, details will be available through the Facebook event page nearer the time. Advance tickets are £25 (or £30 pay on the gate).

Entertainment for 2024 includes the fabulous Angelo Starr and The Team and, for the legendary Sunday night party, Elvis will be well and truly in the building.

BSRA #10 – Llandudno: October 18th-20th

The final National Rally of the year will be held a week earlier than usual, Llandudno was a cracking end to 2023 so expect this one to be even better.

It’s too early for a flyer or any details about this one and tickets haven’t yet gone on sale but we’ll update this page as the year goes on. You can also keep your eye on the VFM page for the latest info.
