We all love a special edition, especially when it’s a race rep like this MotoGP-inspired Aprilia SR GT 125.

Aprilia’s SR GT 125 is an adventure-style scooter (we reviewed it here), but it works well with this replica of the paintwork that adorns Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi’s bikes in this year’s MotoGP.

Race paint

The paintwork is matte black with red and purple graphics, as you can see on the telly on Sunday afternoons. Wheel rims are also painted black, with contrasting red details.

Wavy front and rear brake discs and tyres, with a sporty tread pattern (the standard SR GT has knobbly tyres), further enhance the look of this race rep.

The SR GT Replica is available as a liquid-cooled Euro 5+ 4-valve 125 and 200cc and can be ordered from your nearest Aprilia dealer now.

RSV4 X-GP – the real deal

It’s not often we show motorcycles on ScooterLab but we make an exception every now and again.

How about this for one very, very sexy looking Aprilia?  This is as close to a MotoGP bike as you’re likely to be able to buy, well, if you have a spare €90,00 that is.

The RSV4 X-GP is a very special limited edition bike that will only run to 30 units. The 1099cc 645º V4 engine has been prepared by the Aprilia Racing department, it makes 238bhp and a maximum torque figure of 131 Nm. Weighing in at just 165kg, the power-to-weight ratio is pretty impressive. The bike breathes through a MotoGP replica titanium double-pipe exhaust system.

Aerodynamics

Aside from carbon fibre fairings and mudguards, the bike also has a direct connection with MotoGP thanks to the structural carbon fibre seat support. Aerodynamics play a massive part in the design of this bike; amongst other things, it features leg and tail wings. A technology developed and patented by Aprilia Racing.

It also boasts ‘Ground effect aerodynamics’, a technology also patented by Aprilia to decrease air pressure between the ground and fairing whilst cornering. The bike creates its own downforce, thanks to the shape of the fairings.

Fancy one?

Although not road legal, the RSV4 X-GP is available to the general public and is intended for those wishing to race at top levels in factory derivative championships. I imagine at least a few will go to well-heeled collectors, though.

If you want to get your name down on one, visit Factory Aprilia; the order books are open now, and you’ll need €90,000 plus VAT. Don’t hang about, though, this will sell out very quickly!

I’m off to raid the piggy bank…
