The recent Mersea Island Scooter Rally competition quickly filled up our virtual mailbag. We had almost 60 entries, and we’ve just chosen a winner.
Of course, the answer to the question “During a Mersea Island rally in the late 1990s, we woke on Sunday morning to the very sad news that an English Rose had been killed in a tragic ‘accident’. What year was it, and who was the famous face?”
It was 1997, and the lady in question was Princess Diana.
