Yamaha has released details about their 2025 TMAX Tech MAX 560. The news comes a few days before next week’s prestigious EICMA show in Milan.
Of course, we’ll be at the show to bring you news, photos and video of all the most important new scooters and products, so expect plenty of content on ScooterLab next week.
2025 Yamaha TMAX Tech MAX
The TMAX arrived way back in 2001 and invented a new ‘Sport Scooter’ class. It’s become THE maxi scooter in many countries and also inspired the rest of the Yamaha MAX family – like the XMAX 300 we currently have on longterm loan.
For 2025 the TMAX will be Euro 5+ compliant (of course it can be ridden in any Low Emission zone city in the world) and also gets a fresh new look with a sharper front end, new headlights and a more sophisticated dash. It also gets an upgraded ‘Rider’s Assist’.
560cc twin cylinder EURO 5+ engine
Although the TMAX is a weapon and still leads the Sport Scooter segment, it’s still A2 licence-friendly. The 46.93 bhp engine packs a punch but it has been refined for 2025 and is said to perform just as well in the city as it does out on the fast and twisty bits. The clutch has been revised to give seamless acceleration from a standstill and a new intake funnel reduces the distinctive sound when the throttle is pinned (not everybody will be happy to hear that).
Enhanced Electronic Rider’s Assist
The new TMAX will be equipped with a new Brake Control System – more commonly known as ‘cornering ABS’. Developed originally for Yamaha’s high-performance bikes, Brake Control (BC) works alongside the TMAX’s Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) to help minimise brake slip during hard braking or when riding on low-traction surfaces. It’s designed to give the most comfortable braking experience at varying speeds, lean angles and road conditions.
D-MODE
The TMAX also comes equipped with D-MODE, allowing the rider to select the desired engine characteristic for urban or motorway riding, as well as Traction Control to moderate power to the rear wheel on loose or slippery surfaces.
Upgraded 7-inch dash
The 7-inch dash has been upgraded and features three layouts to enable the rider to select the option that focuses on the info that is important to them. Enhanced connectivity via the Myride app allows users to play music and view SMS messages, as well as receive and make calls. TMAX Tech MAX riders can also access full Garmin Navigation through the Gamin Motorize App (free of charge for UK riders).
