The brand new MoniMoto 9 arrives this week, it’s smaller and lighter than its predecessor and is now rechargeable.
We’ve been using and recommending these fantastic wireless tracking devices since the first MoniMoto came out in 2018. I still use a couple of those ones. Then the MM7 arrived a couple of years ago, it’s a smaller differently shaped unit than the original and uses easily replaceable AA batteries rather than the original’s CM123. We’ve been using both on various scooters and they’re something I’d not leave a scooter outside without (or in a shed/garage).
Although the MM7 is remaining in the MoniMoto range, the brand new for April 2024 MM9 arrives later this week and you can save a tenner on the retail price if you buy through SLUK.
MM7 versus MM9
The MM9 is rechargeable using the supplied USB cable – the battery is reported to last for up to a year on a charge. The old version used three ordinary AA batteries. It’s smaller and lighter than the MM7 so is easier to hide on your scooter/bike/caravan etc. The MoniMoto 7 weighs 95g, measures 94 x 61 x 19 mm, MoniMoto 9 weighs 60g, measures 93 x 38 x 15mm
Subscription
The device comes with a two-month free subscription and an integrated E-SIM card – after that, it costs £36 per year.
Quick & easy
MoniMoto is very easy to install – just use the two reusable tie wraps to secure it to a hidden part of your pride and joy.
They’re also quick and easy to set up, simply pair with your phone and it’s up and running.
Warranty & support
They come with a two year warranty and the MoniMoto support is very good, a customer emailed this week to say his four-year-old MoniMoto had a problem and the factory sorted it out for him.
SLUK reader’s offer
The MM9 retails at £149 and until May 1st SLUK readers can save £10, just type ‘SLUK’ as the coupon code at checkout.
We also have a discounted price on the MM7, they retail at £129 but have been reduced to £115 (no need for a code on that one).
