I love it when you can get one thing to do multiple jobs. Not slippers with mops on you understand; proper manly things like tools.
The packaging of this tool is quite clever, allowing it to have four functions; leaving you less to carry in your tool bag.
Job 1: Vespa Largeframe and Wideframe clutch removal
As any lazy man (or woman) knows, you can normally take the clutch out of a PX, or similar, by levering it with two screwdrivers resting against the engine casing. These clutches are only on a parallel shaft, so they ‘should’ come off easily.
Taper-fit cranks
I found out, through working on the new Spanner’s Manual for Vespa Wideframe, that the same does not apply to older models. Those with taper-fit cranks (GS150 etc) require a specific threaded puller. Those with parallel-fit cranks may come off with screwdrivers, but you must not do it that way because the clutch cover seals flat-to-flat on these older models. If you dent the casings, then you risk oil leaks from the clutch cover.
The SIP tool works a treat on these models. It’s also ideal for any later largeframe where the clutch is stuck; maybe because the crankshaft is not in perfect condition.
The nut of the tool has a flange which can be manoeuvred inside the clutch basket and, once the nut has been removed, used to pull it off the crank. It works well, though the hex part of the nut is an odd size, so an adjustable spanner works best to hold it steady.
Job 2: Vespa Largeframe and Wideframe clutch compressor
A compressor is needed to relieve the spring pressure so you can change the clutch plates.

Job 3: Vespa flywheel puller
This is the correct thread for almost every standard Vespa flywheel, and most aftermarket ignitions including SIP’s own Vape flywheel. It doesn’t fit Vespatronic or the Polini Vespa ignition.
It can all screw together to be carried as a single part.
Job 4: Vespa Smallframe clutch puller
Making this tool useful for smaller capacity Vespas as well, is a puller to remove the tapered clutch centre from the gearbox input shaft on every smallframe and PK Vespa.
