As most of us are settling down for Friday evening, Welsh scooterist, Jason Ude will be setting off on a 956-mile non-stop charity scooter ride for Marie Curie cancer research.
Jason lives in Barry, South Wales and his trip will start at 6:45pm tonight from Cardiff. He’ll be riding his Vespa GTS to Cardiff for the start, then heading off to London’s Trafalgar Square. Once he’s seen the sights he’ll be riding straight up to Edinburgh.
Riding through the night, he’ll only be stopping for fuel and a short break on the 405-mile ride up to Scotland. He aims to be at Edinburgh Castle for 8:15am.
Once he’s checked in at the Scottish capital he’ll be riding 399-miles back down to Cardiff to finish the gruelling trip. To make things even trickier, the forecast for the weekend is pretty cold and dismal.
Fresh
Jason has taken part in previous similar challenges but this will be the earliest trip, he usually waits for slightly warmer weather and longer days.
How long
Jason plans to complete the trip in less than 20 hours and will be raising funds for Marie Curie in aid of his friend, Mike Whyman (pictured left) who sadly died from the disease.
