The BSRA Committee have decided to take the unprecedented step of revealing the 2025 National Scooter Rallies calendar before the end of the season.

Traditionally, the annual ‘Number Ones’ meeting takes place during the last National Rally of the year and dates/venues are voted in (or not). The calendar is released straight after the meeting. Organisers have been fighting a losing battle with smaller events, who quite often clash with a National, so this year the dates and venues have been agreed online and will be revealed next week, just before the Isle of Wight.

You can read the BSRA statement below and of course, we’ll bring you the full calendar next week as soon as it’s released.

BSRA History

Ever since organised scooter rallies first started in the early 1980s it’s been necessary to try and put a calendar together to avoid large events clashing.

The original National Runs Committee (NRC) was born out of many of the larger clubs after the late ’70s Quadrophenia boom, which was followed by a massive run to Scarborough in 1980. Eventually, it became the National Scooter Riders Association (NSRA) after the NRC was forced to change names due to litigation after an incident at one of their events in Peterborough. By 1996 the scooter scene was dying and attendance at National Rallies had dropped from many thousands to several hundred at some events. The NSRA folded at the end of ’96 and it seemed like the big rallies may have been over.

Thankfully, some of the main clubs, alliances and scooterists who were already putting on larger events came together and formed the BSRA (British Scooter Riders Association) to keep the National scene alive.

They not only kept it alive but brought it back to life with fresh ideas (and for many), the early 2000s were the best the scooter scene had ever been. Due to hard work, perseverance and a fair amount of risk, the Nationals slowly bloomed and have been the mainstay of British scootering ever since.

Today the BSRA committee is made up of various clubs and organisations including, VFM, SWSC, SCSW, Big 7, Mansfield Monsters, Olympics SC, Scottish Number Ones, LCGB, VCB, EMSA, Damsels in Distress, Colchester DVLC, Greater Manchester Scooter Collective and the scooter press, including SLUK.

Every member of the BSRA committee is an established scooterist or club and it’s open to any scooterist who is looking to put on a National Rally, or help promote and preserve our National Rallies.
