Vespa has just dropped their new “Miscela Nostalgia” autumn clothing range and are capitalising on 1970s fashions and classic Italian advertising.

It’s fair to say, there are already some ‘out there’ garments in the existing Al Vento collection. Miscela Nostalgia is the second part of Al Vento, and Piaggio says it was inspired by Vespa riders, scooter rallies, racing, and the whole culture surrounding scooters.

Much of it is more likely to appeal to the fashionista of Milan than to Mavis down at your local scooter club, but there are still some items worth a look (especially for the ladies).

Cargo Field Jacket

Rally jackets inspired the Pontedera Green Cargo Field Jacket (and matching cargo trousers, or utility-inspired mini skirt), it comes complete with hand-sewn patches and custom details. The press release says, “The jacket tells the story of Vespa culture – one made of badges, flags and dreams on two wheels.”

An apple a day

One of the slogans used in the collection “Chi Vespa mangia le mele. Chi non Vespa no.” is probably better left in Italian.  It translates to “Those who Vespa eat the apples. Those who don’t, don’t.” Apparently, it’s an old Italian advertising slogan…

More relevant

Although much of the collection is more likely to be worn by customers who buy scooters like the Snake special edition than by the average rally-going scooter rider, some items will appeal. Especially in the ladies’ department, where there are some nice-looking vest tops and jackets. You can browse the Signature collection and the latest drop here.
