I’d heard rave reports about how good this rally was last year, so it was always on my radar for 2025.
It was a busy weekend, offering a choice for those scooterists who like to venture overseas for their riding and rally fix. The same weekend there was another popular rally by the Dutch Lions and there were a number heading slightly further afield for the Euro Vespa rally in Serbia.
Sea, Sun and Run
Back to the Sea, Sun and Run, which is held on a holiday park in St Pierre Quiberon, a peninsula on the south coast of Brittany. The park offers cabins, caravans and camping spots, so something for everyone.
Over the years, the area has a history of hosting great rallies with the RGC weekends previously, and this weekend proved to be no exception.
These rallies are always popular with the Brits, with many travelling from the south west and south coast and across the UK. Huge credit to Karen and Allan Wright who both rode down from Glasgow.
Lady luck
Those that know me know that I tend to leave everything to the last minute, whilst I’d sorted a rally ticket I had no ferry booked until two weeks before, thankfully lady luck meant I stumbled on a good offer and squeezed onto the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg, bumping into a number of scooterists looking forward to the party weekend ahead.
Local produce
I’d decided to avoid all motorways and take a leisurely drive, with a detour to St Malo, to check out some street art I’d wanted to see for a while, clocking up approximately 275 miles in the hazy, French heat. The benefit of a cross-country bimble is finding local boulangeries with the freshest of fresh food to fill your belly for a few euros.
Not so sunny
Literally, as I arrived at the gate, the heavens opened, it was that sort of rain where one drop soaks you. I dived under a nearby tree for a bit of shelter; thankfully, it soon blew over, and normal service was resumed. Sunshine for the rest of the weekend!
I was greeted with a smile, wristband and goody bag by Romain, one of the organisers and after checking in at the park reception, giving me an X marks the spot on a map for my pitch, I soon had my tent set up for the weekend and was sampling the French cidre on draft.
Silly billies
There was a bit of friendly competition going on between scooter clubs from across Europe, with several trying to slap their club stickers highest on the outside of the bar, Jonah (Stockport Crusaders) thought he’d won, until one of the French lads was spotted climbing on the roof slapping a sticker on the chimney!
Party Animal
The whole weekend had a real party vibe and the music played was a great mix of tunes, spun by a great collection of DJs from across Europe.
The standard of food vans on site was very high with a mix of local and more exotic foods to sample. There was also the option to wander along the beach to one of the local beach bars and restaurants.
Go hard or go home
Friday night was a top night, with some tending to go hard on Friday and then a bit steadier on the Saturday (more on that later), everyone was up for a great time and the atmosphere was brilliant, no bands, just uninterrupted partying.
Saturday morning dawns, and as is often the case on the French rallies, they had supplied some breakfast for us, bread, cheese, jam, coffee, etc, a nice way to start the day. That is if you manage to drag yourself out of your tent, hanging and make it there in time. I managed to get there as they were packing up ahead of the ride out.
Twisty coast road
I’m not a massive fan of rideouts, so I chose to take a few photos and then to ride the beautiful stretch of coast road down to Quiberon, the rideouts final destination. The twisty stretch of coast road was so much fun I then rode up and down it another couple of times. It is highly recommended if you do join us for the fun next year, just watch out for any patches of gravillons!
Seafood and sounds
The ride out arrived at the beach bar in Quiberon and was greeted with trays of oysters, etc whilst the DJs spun tunes in the sunshine. The scooters all lined up along both sides of the promenade, an impressive sight for the holiday makers and locals.
It was soon time to leave this scenic spot and to head back to catch the afternoon’s fun and games and to prepare for the night ahead, not that I needed any excuse to ride the coast road again.
French superheroes
The games drew a big crowd as several Brit volunteers were pitched against a cleverly assembled group of French “superheroes” each clearly selected for their super power. Each Brit had to then compete against them, these games included skipping, wrecking, swallowing a pint glass and trying to drown yourself in a bucket of water! All innocent fun and hilarious for us lot not taking part.
Mullet over
Games over, it was time for a quick shower in the decent facilities and glad rags on for the night (aka shorts, tee and flip flops).
What I said earlier about going steady on the Saturday night definitely didn’t apply here, there were many out in fancy dress and most were still in full party mode. The DJs fed off the crowd, and that only revved up the crowd even more, another top night. The DJs also took turns wearing a rather fetching wig, but thankfully no one got any photos of SWSC’s Andy Greenslade wearing it… Mwahahaha!
Best Scootergirl, Jasmine with Justin (I’m not quite sure what the is…)
After the trophies were presented (results below), the partying carried on into the early hours. Sadly, all good things come to an end and it was soon time to hit the sleeping bag.

Au revoir
Thankfully, on Sunday morning, I was up in time to grab some coffee, juice and breakfast, before the “joyous” experience of packing up the tent, etc, after the weekend’s excesses.
Another bimble back up to Cherbourg, this time via Rennes for some more street art, meeting up with several others at the port for the overnight ferry home.
A great weekend
This is what weekends were invented for: sea, scooters, sun and fun, and all with great mates.
Ronan, Romain and the team, the DJs and also the staff from the park (many of them were spotted joining in the partying) all deserve a huge thank you for hosting a fantastic weekend. Thankfully, we get a chance to do it all again next year, so if you want to go, grab a ticket now (they are available via the Sea, Scoot and Run Facebook page) as this will definitely sell out again.
Merci beaucoup
