This weekend (January 11th-12th) will see thousands of visitors flocking to Newark Showground for the annual Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic Show.
Aside from being an interesting show for motorcyclists, this event has also become a good way for scooterists to kickstart their year. That’s because Scooter World takes over a decent-sized part of the massive complex. The scooters can be found in the Crocker Halls at the Showground and they always feature some great custom and classic scooters.
Traders
Aside from plenty of scooters, whose owners will be competing for awards including Best Scooter and Best Club Stand awards, many of the UK’s dealers will also be present. Those confirmed include Chiselspeed, Retrospective and Just Into Scooters.
There will also be club displays from the likes of Team S Equipe and Team Scooterroller, alongside private entries and racers.
Fire ’em up
One thing this show has that is different to most scooter-only shows is the chance for visitors to see and hear some of the machines being started up (like the Casa Twin in the video above). Ex-BSB racers, Steve Plater and Jamie Whitham usually compere the ‘Fire-up’ sessions and generally have a good chat with the owners about their scooters. It always proves to be popular with the crowds and often surprises a few of the bikers present. Look out for session times on the day.
