It’s showtime! Saturday sees Motorcycle Live 2024 kicking off at the NEC in Birmingham and for this year they’ve shaken things up a bit.
Sponsored by Bikesure, MCL24 runs from Saturday, the 16th of November to Sunday, the 24th and features loads more interactive events and chances to ride. It also includes ‘Motorcycle Live Amplified’ a new live music addition to the show. With live bands every day and a mini festival on the final Saturday, it brings a brand new element to the show.
Scooters at Motorcycle Live
Of course, the main focus of Motorcycle Live is for two-wheeled fans to be able to look at and sit on most of the new and current range of bikes and scooters from the main manufacturers – like the new Yamaha TMAX for instance.
Floor plan
Sadly, for SLUK readers, Piaggio won’t be in attendance (again) this year but there will still be plenty of other scooters to look at if modern or retro float your boat. Those brands include, Royal Alloy, Lambretta (see if the spoof AI-generated G325 is there or not), Yamaha, Honda, Kymco, Sym, VMoto and many others. You can check out the floor plan above.
Expert Lab
Another new feature for this year is the Expert Lab in Hall 3A, where Grace Webb (see video above) will host various experts to discuss topics surrounding the future of biking.
The Machine Shop
She’ll also be joined by the folks from local community workshop, The Machine Shop who will be giving demos on welding, powder coating and wheel changing. They’re also aiming to set a world record by stripping and rebuilding a bike in just six minutes!
Have a go
As well as test rides on loads of new bikes there’s a chance for novice riders to get on two wheels. I’m sure we all remember the very first time we rode a bike or scooter, it was a life-changing moment. At Motorcycle Live, visitors over the age of 14 can have a go on a geared or auto machine in the Learn to Ride Zone. They’ll be partnered with a professional instructor and kitted out with safety gear provided by Arai, AGV and RST (Official Clothing Suppliers of MCL24).
Experts will be on hand to explain how to get a licence and demystify the steps needed to get on the road legally.
Rolling roads
BMW Rider Training and Harley Davidson will also have rolling roads on their stands to give you a feel for riding without the need for safety kit.

- Tickets cost £23 in advance from here. Children under 5 are free, 6 to 18-year-olds are just £2.50.
Parking
If you’re travelling by bike/scooter parking is free in the Honda bike park. Travelling by car? Parking costs £18.95 on the day but you can book the day before using this link and save £5. You can also park for free at some local train stations and get a return train ticket from places like Birmingham International right to the show for as little as £2.60.
