Listen up race fans, it’s the Teesside 8-hour scooter endurance race this Saturday and here’s some useful information for you.
From a rider’s perspective, Teesside is the best of the two tracks on the British Scooter Endurance Club’s calendar. It’s fast in places and technical enough to make it interesting whilst racing on it for eight hours. It’s a also a good track for spectators, with visibility from the banking and trackside of about 75% of the track. There’s also a cafe on site. Free to get in! Yes, it is still 100% free for spectators at scooter endurance racing.
When and where?
- The race is on Saturday 14th September and runs from 10 am-6 pm.
- It’s located at Teesside Autodrome, Middlesbrough, TS6 6XH
What to expect
This meeting clashes with scooter racing at Cadwell Park unfortunately so it means the BSSO lads won’t be competing at BSEC this time. Don’t worry though, there are still 29 teams entered in the four classes and a new team has joined the mayhem – team #18 Holt Tune.
Amongst those 29 teams are 10 Vespas and 19 Lambrettas.

Friday: 16:00-18:00 practice, followed at 18:45 by riders’ kart race
Saturday: 08:30-09:30 qualifying, 10:00-18:00 Tside 8 Endurance race, 18:45 awards ceremony
Live feed & timing
For the first time, at this meeting, Teesside have now got their own live video feed via TSK-motorsport-media. You can subscribe to their YouTube channel here. The live race should be broadcast on that channel as it happens.
Timing is still done by Alpha timing, you can view that from Saturday qualifying right through to the race finish. It’s a great way to keep track of who is doing what as the race unfolds. You can see the timing on your computer or mobile device here or download the dedicated app, AlphaRacehub.
Ride it like you stole it
Sadly, due to an unfortunate clash with a holiday and wedding in Vegas, I’m having to sit this one out but I wish all teams and competitors a safe and fun-packed weekend on and off track. Rest assured, I really will miss being out there with you.
