How about a free weekend at Whilton Mill watching a solid eight hours of non-stop scooter racing?
Yes, that’s right. The British Scooter Endurance Club are heading to Northamptonshire for the first meeting of the 2024 Championship and it’s free to get in, there’s camping available and a great 80-seater American-style restaurant and bar on site. The track also boasts great facilities and spectators can see most of the track and get up close to the action.
Sorry, no dogs!
Whilton mill have a no dogs at the track policy so please leave your pooches at home.

Fancy riding the track?
The two-hour Friday practice session is open to all riders with a current road licence and protective gear, so if you want to get on track you’re more than welcome. Your scooter and riding kit will have to pass a safety check and the session will cost £40.
How many teams?
This meeting will see 34 teams taking to the start line, that’s a hectic grid and a busy track. One thing at BSEC events is that you’re never short of action, whether you’re spectating or racing. With fuel stops, rider changes at least every hour, tyre changes and mechanical issues to sort out. Endurance racing is a technical sport that can be won or lost in the paddock or refuelling area.
New teams
Of those 34 teams, there are two new ones – The Southern Monkeys in Club Class and Team Super Sprinters in Pro Race.
SLUK Racing aren’t there as a team but two of us, Iggy and Sam, will be riding for #4 – London Lambretta Club.
Will it be televised?
Although SLUK are still proud to sponsor BSEC racing, for the first time in a few years, this event will NOT be televised. The costs involved make it hard to keep raising the money, so for this meeting, it was decided not to have the Alpha Live team there.

Where is it?
Whilton Mill Karting & Outdoor Activities Centre is located at Whilton Locks, NN11 2NH. There’s plenty of parking space and it’s fun for all the family, we’ll see you there.
