Classic to Crazy
We all know that Rimini Lambretta Centre has two very different sides. They’re known for outstanding restorations, tastefully done mod-style scooters, sympathetic rebuilds and of course the sourcing of new old stock and original accessories. Marco is in charge of that side of things, he loves the classic side of Lambretta and epitomises the art of cool.
On the other side sits Micky, he’s the unruly professor with a thirst for speed. If you like your scooters fast and furious Micky is your man and he knows how to ride them. Special guests
Aside from a DJ playing tunes during the day and a raffle with some incredible prizes, there will also be some special guests with names like Gori, Ancillotti, Tony Tessier, Vittorio Tessera and others.
Getting there
Most UK airports offer reasonably priced flights to Italy. Ryan Air fly direct from Stansted to Rimini but sadly that flight doesn’t start until later in the year. However, you can fly into Venice, or Bologna and hire a car. As an example, an early morning flight from my local airport to Venice with 10kg of luggage is less than £100. You can have breakfast in Venice before heading north. Choosing a bigger UK airport can reduce the flight cost by a few quid. The drive from Venice is around 2.5 hours and is quite straightforward.
Accommodation
Poggio Torriana is the town closest to RLC, it isn’t very big but there is still accommodation available on Booking.com from £168, two nights for two people. If you’d prefer to stop in Rimini itself (six miles from the shop) you can get similar accommodation for less than £100 and walk to the beach.
