TCX are my personal boot brand of choice and I wear them for all long-distance rides. For 2024 some of their most popular boots have been revamped with new styling and colours.
Hero 2
First up are the Hero 2, (pictured above). I’m still riding in the original Hero boots that I’ve had since 2017 and I love them. The Hero 2 only came in black when they replaced the Hero ( which were available in black or brown), but you can now get them in brown as well, it’s the better colour for sure. They have reinforcing at the ankle, toe and heel. The upper section is made from full grain leather, with a contoured upper collar for extra comfort, whilst the stitched sole offers good levels of grip on any terrain – or your scooter’s runner boards. The boots have laces and a concealed zipper to make them easy to get on/off. There’s also a padded joint just above the heel for extra comfort. Finally, Hero 2 has a T-Dry waterproof membrane that keeps your feet nice and dry.
They retail at £219.99 and are well worth the money.
Dartwood WP
Now available in light brown, the Dartwood WP are another smart-looking boot. These are made from full-grain leather and feature a T-Dry waterproof membrane for superior waterproofing. There’s a clever ZPLATE® shank on the midsoles to optimise front flexibility and transverse rigidity, plus D30® inserts on the malleolus area, as well as reinforcements to the heel and toe.

Street 3 Air
Here’s a decent summer boot I’ve been wearing since the original version came out, mine are still going strong from 2015. Now onto version 3, they’ve been improved with D30® inserts on the ankle, toes and heel. They feature an Ortholite® footbed for long-lasting and highly breathable comfort and cushioning. These have a Zplate® insert in moulded polymer, which combines transverse rigidity for maximum safety and longitudinal flexibility allowing them to follow the natural movement of the foot. The wear-resistant Groundtrax® sole has a tessellated tread that guarantees maximum grip. New colourway for 2024 is Green/Caramel Café.
