Took a detour, going to Woolacombe through Bristol and on to A39,made a mental note to update my sat nav when I get home.Anyway,I thought the route would be OK,after all it is an A road.Took us ages to get through the city in Friday night rush hour.Eventually escaped the city and went past Weston Super Mare and on to Porlock.Went up Porlock Hill which is a 1in4,fully loaded with camping gear, which was shall we say challenging on a Lambreatta. The first switch back was taken OK in second gear, but had to change down to 1st for the second !
We eventually got to the top and then traveled on over moorland and a few cattle grids for bloody miles before finally reaching civilisation and ended up reaching the rally late in the evening.
The tents were hastily erected before heading of for much needed liquid refreshments.
Sunday morning saw us at the Puffin cafe in Woolacombe and one of the best full english breakfasts I have had, highly recommended.
Because of commitments we headed off home later on in the morning to do it all again, but not on the A39!
