Win 2 tickets to The Prodigy Resurrection Rally | Competition
This Friday we’ll be heading up to this event, ahead of our ScooterExpo show on Sunday. The Prodigy Scooter Collective have given us two tickets for their Resurrection Rally this weekend but before we tell you how to enter our free competition here are some details about them and the event…
Prodigy – noun – a young person with exceptional qualities or abilities, that’s what the dictionary says. Therefore can a group of 20-year-olds have the ability to organise and do their own rally? Well, that’s what Prodigy Scooter Collective did last summer and now they have their Resurrection Rally ‘The Second Coming’ this weekend (26th-28th July) located on the outskirts of Manchester (address can be found at the bottom).
Ashton on Mersey RUFC will be hosting this year’s instalment of what these young organisers are classing as an ‘alternative rally’. Their aim is to encourage not just younger people to get involved in the scene but also appeal to others who want more variety. They believe in order to appeal to a broader range of people then the scene needs to accept a broader range of musical genres.
Friday night’s entertainment will kick off with the amazing solo singer and guitarist ‘Danny Firth’ who they happened to find playing in a pub in Scarborough when the scooter rally was on earlier in the year. After liking what he had to offer with his mix of indie cover bangers they approached him to come and perform at their rally. He has duly obliged and will be performing two sets for the crowd.
Saturday night’s main entertainment will be from the one and only ‘Indie Division.’ They’re coming from Derby to perform for the masses with a range of indie classics from The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Smiths and Joy Division plus more.
In between the live entertainment will be plenty of Indie, House and other alternative music genres from Prodigy SC’s very own DJ Matt, plus his guests – Terror, Jason Ude, Skolar and Andy. Both nights will also feature a three-channel silent disco from midnight onwards so revellers can choose which music they would prefer to party the night away to. They will have a range from indie, house and alternative to old skool rave plus a channel with all your normal rally favourites.
Saturday daytime the music will continue to flow with a back to back reggae set by Jason Ude and Matt, whilst the custom show and dealers stalls are present on site. Food will be available mornings and evenings across the whole weekend.
There will be 13 trophies up for grabs and they are sponsored by the following – each have also been hand fabricated by Liam Simm, Lloyd Watts and Jake Cox.
