What’s on @ I can’t believe it’s not Whitby? | NEWS
Has everybody got their scooters ready for this weekend’s rally? Yes, we have as well, although other than riding around the front yard we’re not going far. That’s why we’re planning a few typical scooter rally activities to keep you all entertained over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Pack your waterproofs
If there’s one good bit of news to come out at the minute, it’s the weekend’s weather forecast. After your virtual ride in typical monsoon-like Easter conditions, you’ll be glad to not get to Whitby for a few pints in The Angel Hotel. That’s the one owned by the large pub chain who decided he wasn’t paying 40,000 of his staff during the corona outbreak (before realising the public outcry would damage his business in the future).
Anyway, get yourself dressed up and have a few around the virtual town before heading to the do. We’ve got a few DJs lined up for you, courtesy of Scooterist Internet Radio and there are plenty more bedroom/living room/kitchen DJs doing their own stuff around the internet so choose your own favourite.
DJ sets and timings
DJs from Scooterist Internet Radio will be keeping you entertained over the weekend, you can see their feeds direct from our ‘I can’t believe it’s not Whitby’ events page. The set listings are below.
Other DJs are popping up all the time at the minute, if you’re one of them use the hashtag #LockdownList and give SLUK a shout out so people can find you (and us).

Custom Show
Unlike a ‘normal’ rally, the custom entrants don’t need to spend hours polishing their scooters after a wet ride up to Whitby. Instead, they can park them in our virtual show on Friday morning and leave them there until Sunday.
How to enter
On Friday morning at 10 am the show page will open on SLUK. Simply go on to the page (it’ll be shared via our notifications on Friday when it’s live and posted to our social media channels). If you’ve got a show worthy scooter you can upload your favourite photo of it and leave it for the world to admire.
Public vote
The public will vote for their favourite scooter on the Whitby custom show page. Those votes will automatically choose the virtual winner. You’ll also be able to share the show page on Facebook etc. You’ll win the adulation of fans around the world.
Parts Fair
Our parts fair page will go live as well on Friday – lookout for the post on SLUK (you’ll get a notification if you’re a subscriber to the page). We’ll have details for many of the traders who would have been displaying their wares at Whitby. You can visit their websites or Facebook pages and get something to keep you entertained during lockdown.
If you were meant to be trading at Whitby get in touch at editorial@scooterlab.uk
The official Whitby rally patches and pin badges will also be on sale.
SLUK Shop will be open all weekend as usual
