If you’ve just woken up and are wondering what the SLUK has happened to ScooterLab, please do not adjust your TV sets! Things really have changed and we have lots of annoying problems to fix!

Our old website was over five years old and there were some bits that had become outdated. There was a falling out between various different plugins and some (once) fancy 2016 computer coding was a bit closer to morse code than JavaScript! The old ship was ready to sink under the weight of thousands of articles/features/images and news items. So it was time to splash out on a brand new website. I’m sorry that things aren’t located in your usual aisle (SLUK Clips are now next to the Fairy Liquid) and the new layout will no doubt be messing with your head and spoiling your feng shui but it needed to be done.

Exaltare

We’ve been working with pune based tech company, Exaltare Technologies. The team have been working very hard during the pandemic to build this all-new website. The tricky part though was getting all the old content over to this new platform. Sadly, there will be a few casualties, some of the old layouts will be a bit different to how they originally looked but they’ve made the best of a difficult job and we hope to iron out any issues over time. I’m sure we’ll have a few bugs along the way so bear with us please, normal service will soon be resumed. Running in period If you spot anything that’s not working as it should be, or you thing the site navigation could be improved feel free to let us know your suggestions. We’re going to have to run it in a bit and we’re not quite sure if we guessed the jetting correctly so bear with us as we tweak the carburation…

Multilingual So what’s new? Obviously, the whole look and feel of the site has changed a bit and we’ve also added a useful translation feature for our overseas readers. You can choose your local jibber-jabber and read SLUK like a native by selecting a language at the top right of the page. If there are any languages you’d like us to add just get in touch (providing you can read this of course). Search Our new improved search function (top right) means it should be simple to find those old articles, look for something specific, or just type in the scooter model or brand you want to read about. If you want to read everything we’ve ever done about Italjet and read it in Indonesian (or many other languages) then feel free. Videos Many of our SLUK features contain videos. Now, using the new video tab on the main menu you can flick through every video we’ve ever made whenever you’re at a loose end. There are currently 17 pages to go through! Please also subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Gallery

Of course, images are a big part of what we do and you can also flick through the new gallery feature. Feel free to share images, videos and our stories to your own social media channels. Tag #SLUK or #ScooterLab wherever possible and help to spread the love. SLUK app Just before the first lockdown, we’d started developing a SLUK app, it kind of got put on hold for a while but as well as building the new website over the past couple of months, Exaltare Technologies have also been building a new app for us. The app will be released in May so keep your eyes open and download it, it’s free and will be available on both IOS and Android. It means you’ll be able to see everything new on SLUK as soon as it gets released.
