Some modern autos have a seat height that can put shorter or less confident riders off. The Vespa Sprint, Primavera (and GTS range) are prime offenders. Thankfully SIP have released these lowering kits to reduce the seat height by 20mm on two of the aforementioned models.
How does it work?
The SIP lowering device simply replaces the standard rear shock hanger to drop the suspension by 20mm. This means an 850mm seat height comes down to a more manageable 830mm. That 2cm can make a big difference to a rider’s confidence.
Price & availability
The lowering device is suitable for the latest Vespa Sprint and Primavera 125/150 models and costs £81.92 from SIP here.
If you take a pillion and they struggle to reach the pegs you can get some peg extenders as well, they cost £45.93.
Although the lowering device isn’t suitable for the Vespa GTS, these SIP extended pillion pegs are and may well stop you getting earache from your passenger on longer journeys. The standard GTS pegs certainly aren’t as practical as they should be.
