SLUK Sena Competition #16 – Taking the high road | VIDEO
We sometimes forget just how many stunning riding roads we have in the UK. England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales all have their own treasures for us to discover and explore. One area we often neglect is Scotland, roads up there are much quieter, have unbelievable scenery and make a great destination for a touring holiday.
One particular route that has started to gain some prominence since its creation in 2014 is the North Coast 500. It’s a 500-mile loop beginning and ending in Inverness. Andrew Kay, AKA Sluice, recently completed the route on his trusty Lambretta. This video shows him riding up Bealach Na Ba in Wester Ross, it’s one of Britain’s highest roads at 625.7 metres. From the top on a clear day you get a view of the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides and the scenery is said to rival the Swiss Alps.
