Show us your SLUK parts | NEWS
I’ve just re-read that title and realised it could open up a whole can of worms! Just for clarity, it’s not body parts we’re looking for (but thanks for the offers). We’re looking for photos of SLUK parts being used on your scooters… so read on.
Where it all began
Our SLUK Plastics™ range started off in summer 2016 with us adding the simple (original) Lambretta ‘Coast 2 Coast screen’ to our new shop. It was the only plastic product we’d had any involvement with back then. An idea originated by Sticky a few years earlier as an easy to fit and remove sports screen to aid aerodynamics on fast blasts – like the LCGB Coast 2 Coast event. That idea was first brought to fruition by our plastic supremo, Nigel. For SLUK, we updated the design, with new hidden fastenings and improved the fit. Although we still get asked for the original style screen (pictured above) so may make a few ‘retro’ GP ones soon when Nigel has blown the dust off the tooling.
From small acorns
Since then we’ve invented/developed and manufactured over 60 plastic SLUK products and you can see them on road and race scooters around the world. Something we’re very proud of.
Show us your scooters
What we’re looking for is photos of your scooters with our products fitted so we can update our shop listings to show the products off in ‘real-life.’ All we’re asking is for you to upload your photos direct to this page and we’ll use as many as we can on our shop listings. So, if you have a nice photo (or want to go and take one) get it uploaded…
Service with a smile
We’re also proud of how our parts fit, how they work and on the odd occasions when things inevitably do go wrong, (or parts don’t fit as they should) we’re also proud of the way we deal with problems. Just yesterday, Nigel did a socially distancing visit in his little Scoota Car to find out why a customer’s custom painted GP Coast 2 Coast screen wouldn’t fit on the matching, freshly-painted custom scoot. It turned out that lashings and lashings of big, fat metalflake and lacquer had caused the screen to be tighter than it should be over the headset. Measurements were taken and Nigel is making a one-off screen to suit the fatter headset.
Result, happy customer
Social distancing and PPE are easy to adhere to when you work in isolation most of the time. Although plastic fumes are quite harmful.
We’d also like you to write a review of our products on the listings in the shop, it’ll help others decide if the parts are right for them. To add your review just go onto the item on our shop page, scroll down and click the ‘Review’ tab (as above).
