Scootaway UK charity world record British motorway riding attempt | NEWS
Motorway riding can be monotonous at the best of times, doing a non-stop charity ride of every motorway on the mainland is madness.
UK Motorway riding World Record attempt….four riders on four Lambrettas and it’s all for Charity mate!
Commencing 6th July four riders will attempt to set a new World record by riding on the 50 Motorways in England, Scotland and Wales in one go; whilst raising some much needed funding for the Parkinson’s UK Charity.
Barry Drew, a member of the four manned “Scootaway UK” Team tells us “The 4 riders will be covering approximately 300 miles a day as they criss cross the country, leaving Dunfermline on Thursday 6th July and completing the record attempt when they join the M2 at Chatham on Sunday 9th July”.
So who are these charity minded foolhardy souls? The Scootaway UK team comprises of Jim Dennis, Peter Johnson, Steve Holmes, Mark Broadhurst, Dave Drew & Barry Drew, along with four other support members.

Saddle Sore Support, fancy a ride?
I’m sure we’ll all agree that this is a cracking attempt at a new World Record, raising the profile for scooterists, by scooterists themselves, whilst raising funds for a great charity!
