Fancy a weekend of scooters, sun and racetrack fun at a brand new event in Italy?

The first time a mass of British Lammies will go up against European Vespas on a short track that suits the smallframes. How will the Brits fare?

‘Run to the Race’  event 16th-18th September  2016 – POMPOSA Race Circuit ITALY

We mentioned earlier in the year about a new event aiming to get all of the different scooter racers from all over Europe together for a meeting at the same time as an Italian scooter rally by S.I.R.

Well that event is going ahead as planned and you can take part as a racer or a rally-goer. While the racing takes place at the Pomposa circuit, the evening rally element of the event is located nearby in a holiday camp known as ‘Florenz Holiday Village’ on the Adriatic coast.

Already 3/4 of the accommodation in the holiday camp is full, but there are some more chalets available by emailing

The Price

For just Euro 60 (approx. GBP £47!) per person you get : 2 x nights accommodation, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, evening meal on Saturday, entrance to the party on Friday, the Saturday night concert and party and full use of the Florenz complex’s beach, pool and on-site facilities!

Other costs are Euro 25 (Euro 20 for SIR, ESC, BSSO members) which gives you entrance to the scooter rally and a goody bag. The only other cost is for the actual racing, although that is a mere fraction of current UK costs.

The Location/Rally events

Some people have asked us why we have chosen to use the Florenz facility? The answer is that it is situated just 2km’s from the Pomposa circuit and this is a nice modern complex, with a private swimming pool, private beach, beauty spa facilities for the ladies, two restaurants (one on the beach), bar and sports facilities. Your scooters can be brought into the complex and can be parked alongside your bungalows. Italy in September is normally VERY warm and you’ll put the beach and pool to good use. Check out the pics here: Florenz Holiday Village

The Friday night party will be inside the main hall with all the S.I.R. DJ’s spinning the tunes until the early hours. The Saturday night concert with ‘The Beat’ will be open-air with a full party to follow. The German and Austrian E.S.C. racers and Italian S.I.R. scooterists REALLY know how to party and as it’s their end-of-season finale, it has all the promise of being a mental jolly-up!

The Racing

This is the first time in years that serious numbers of scooter racers from several countries will be racing against one-another and we will do everything possible to ensure that you can all partake without having to change your machines. We guarantee you that if your scooter is eligible for racing in any current European race series you can race at the Pomposa event without any modification whatsoever!

Want to partake? Then we need to know your details and your scooter make/type. We’ll then organise the signing on with the E.S.C. as a block booking. The E.S.C. has both on-the-day race insurance and on-the-day race licenses available – both of which are VERY cheap. ANYONE can enter!

Race Scooter Transport from UK

We have finalised some indications of the prices for having your race scooters collected (from 3 possible UK collection points) and then returned to these same points, immediately after the event (as the BSSO final is on at Cadwell Park the following weekend). The prices are GBP £300 per scooter, there and back. That includes scooter, helmet, riding gear and possibly some space for spare parts / tools etc. Don’t forget that lots of tools and spares are not really needed as the Casa Lambretta Racing Team race-station Motorhome will be present on site for the duration of the event and all UK riders will have FULL access to the facilities. After speaking with BSSO committee members, we have three possible UK collection points. These are : Darlington area/Mansfield area/Southend area. We also have a van leaving the Swindon area that has 4 possible spaces available if needed. For more on this contact
