Young Luke Salvin recently nipped home for his tea on an old Serveta. Nothing remarkable there other than the fact that he works at Rimini Lambretta Centre so his trip home was from Italy to the UK and back again. Oh, and the Serveta he came home on was running a Casa SST 265 Touring engine. Firstly watch the video above and let the captions whet your appetite…
Andy Gillard at ScooterNova caught up with Luke whilst he was in the UK and got out for a test ride. You can read the full story in ScooterNova issue 10, due out next week (October 25th) just before Bridlington. You can order a copy from us now by clicking this link. Andy will answer all those important questions like ‘how much?’, ‘what’s it do to the gallon?’ ‘is it reliable?’, ‘when can I have one?’ and many more.
Could this be a game changer for the rally-going scooterist? We’ll have to wait and see but with a cruising speed of 80mph (and more on tap), 31bhp and loads of torque you’d like to think the detuned SSR engine will be both capable and reliable. Sticky rode the then unfinished prototype SST in Albania for us a few months ago, you can read about that here.
Since then it’s been refined, the Casa Performance box type exhaust design has been finalised and it’s ready to roll. We’ll be riding the Casa SST Touring in Italy for SLUK in two weeks time and will bring you some onboard video and our own review then, but for now, go and buy ScooterNova. or take out a subscription starting at issue 10.
Thanks to Sticky for the Dyno video
