Those of the Eagle Eyed amongst you will realise that we opened this feature back in mid May and you can check that out here. Well, since then the intrepid Django Voyagers have passed the half way mark in their epic 3000km ride from Paris to Casablanca. The riders are of course Clémence Couten and Lisa Aleksenko….. here’s the latest on their adventure.
1700 kilometres down 1300 to go
After leaving Paris on the 11th of May 2017, Clémence and Lisa have already ridden almost 1,700 km on their 125cc Django scooters and will shortly travel across the Strait of Gibraltar, aiming to arrive in Casablanca before the end of June.
50 day itinerary
Their 50-day itinerary is designed to allow the two women time to encounter changing cultures and to discover the most beautiful urban and rural roads in Europe, and the world beyond. They’re achieving this on two 125cc neo-retro Peugeot Django scooters.
France, Spain and… Saigon
From Paris, the pair rode down through Poitou-Charentes and on to Bordeaux, where they met Samuel, who rode a Django from Paris to Saigon last year. From there they crossed the Pyrénées Mountains into Spain and across the interior to Madrid. Heading for the southern coast, they discovered the cities of Manzanares, La Carolina, Jaen, Grenade and Motril.
Across the Med
Once across the Mediterranean, Clémence and Lisa will experience the roads of Morocco for the first time in the beautiful city of Tangiers, before continuing their trip to Rabat, El Jadida, Essaouira, Marrakech and ultimately Casablanca.
