NEW Yamaha NMAX and D’elight for 2021 | NEWS
Many commuters have switched to two wheels this year and the 125 scooter class is booming. Yamaha has today unveiled two updated models for 2021. The NMAX 125 is Yamaha’s best selling model in the 125 class with 72,000 units being sold to date.
For 2021 the NMAX gets an all-new body design, new frame and a premium finish with added detailing to enhance its appeal. It also comes with the latest generation EU5 liquid-cooled Blue Core engine.
Other highlights include…
- Smart key
- Traction control system and ABS
- Start/stop engine tech
- Bluetooth connectivity with SCCU*
- Connected instruments
SCCU is Yamaha’s Simple Communication Control Unit. The NMAX is the first scooter to come equipped with it, it links to the MyRide app to give detailed info on the scooter’s running information, battery and oil status, fuel consumption etc. The rider can also use Ride & Record to see the data for their ride with lean angles, speed, distance, acceleration etc. You can also share routes with other MyRide users. Of course, SCCU also links to your phone to alert you to incoming calls etc. via the LCD dashboard.
The all-new D’elight is designed to appeal to riders of both sexes (and is no doubt gender-neutral too). It’s the lightest 125 in its class weighing in at just 101kg. Like the NMAX, it also comes with the new EU5 Blue Core engine and Start & Stop technology.
- 125cc EU5 Blue Core engine (increased fuel efficiency/cleaner)
- 12-inch front wheel for added stability
- Large underseat area
- Larger headlight and LCD instruments
