NEW inlet manifolds and rubbers from Casa Performance | NEWS
Casa Performance have been busy of late designing and testing new inlet manifolds. Although these are designed primarily for their SSR265 Scuderia engines, they can also be used on all SS200, SS225, SS250, SSR250 and even the latest SST265 Touring cylinders as well. Working with specialists in this field they have designed the manifold you see here, to give MUCH better internal flow and an added bonus is that it is also slightly lower thus improving the frame clearance.
To say the end results were “superb” is a bit of an understatement to say the least, as this simple swap has given both extra power and torque right across the entire rev-range, as can be seen in the accompanying graph, where they ran an SSR265 Scuderia engine with the previously supplied inlet manifold and then swopped that for the new manifold. To gain this much power increase from such a simple modification is simply astonishing.
After running tests with computer-aided software, the lads at Casa Performance – ‘CP’ were able to come up with the new design that you see above. An ‘O’ ring has been added on the underside and the manifolds are CNC machined in aluminium, rather than cast. An internal stuffer has also been added and is part of the kit.
Whilst they were at it, they have also designed and manufactured an all-new carb rubber with much more precise ringed recesses specifically for the Dell’Orto 39mm carbs that they use on their SSR265 Scuderia engines. These 39mm carbs use an unusually short rear mounting stub and all other manufacturers rubbers on the market were a compromise as their ringed recesses didn’t correspond to those of the carb, as you can see in the pic above (left). Once again, another big advantage of the CP carb rubber is that as it is physically shorter, your carb will also sit much closer to the engine and give more side panel clearance.
How much and where from?
The code for the new manifold kit is X58c and the cost is €99.95/£85. Each kit will include the CNC manifold, a stuffer, an ‘O’ ring and the 4 fixing screws. If you also require a carb rubber, they are optional extras for either a 34mm carb (code X56c, made by CDC) or for a 39mm carb (part code X56b, made by Casa Performance) and cost an extra €18/£15.50 for either type.
