Those 1980s scooter boys (and girls) will be wetting themselves when they see these Buzzetti-style folding kickstarts from SIP. The accessory was popular back in the day but when SIP approached Buzzetti to see about producing them again they found out the moulds had been destroyed years ago.
Not to be put off, SIP have redesigned it for the 21st century. The shape and position have been altered slightly and the forged aluminium body is now available in a choice of powder-coated finishes (or polished alloy).
The kickstart lever itself is made from cast steel and rotates 90º so can be folded away when not in use, it’s been made to the same size as a standard PX kickstart pedal so the original rubbers still fit. SIP say the extended overall length of the kickstart means it can be used with standard or performance engines and provides enough extra leverage to kickstart higher compression motors.
Price and availability
The colours also match SIP’s range of tubeless rims, side stands, brake calipers and brake levers. The kickstart comes complete with rubber and bolt. They cost £42.27 and can be found by visiting this link.
SIP parts are also available from many UK dealers and also from VE (UK) who stock many of the popular lines, including these kickstarts.
