New 2021 BMW C 400 X & GT models launched | NEWS
BMW have just launched their 2021 C400 X and C 400 GT (pictured above) models and they come with a whole load of updates. The X version is dedicated to urban mobility, whilst the Gran Turismo ‘GT’ is built with touring in mind and comes with enhanced comfort built-in.
Both models feature an EU-5 single-cylinder engine which makes 34bhp and 35 Nm of torque. The engine now comes with a new engine management system, an optimised clutch and ‘E gas’ – an “electronic grip throttle” and an electronically operated throttle valve. The system is designed to provide a more sensitive and smoother throttle response.
Automatic Stability Control (ASC)
Updates to the ASC system mean there is no longer a need to recalibrate the ASC system after changing tyres because it comes with automatic radius control. It’s also been tweaked for significantly lower friction values, which gives a more sensitive response than before and increased comfort on wet and slippery surfaces.
The brakes have also been upgraded with new front calipers for the twin front discs and adjusted lever travel for both front and rear brakes. Of course, ABS comes as standard. The updates help to provide an asymmetrical braking feel.
Underseat storage
The 31-litre underseat space can be increased to 45-litres when parked using the Flexcase (ideal for storing extra riding kit when you leave the scooter). The space also comes with a 12v charge point and the interior lighting has been moved higher to provide better illumination. There’s also a convenient USB point in the front right storage compartment.
