I’m sure you’ve all seen the horrifying headlines, footage and images from India in the last couple of weeks. People literally gasping their last breaths as they ‘drown’ on the pavements. Others fighting for precious bottles of oxygen as they desperately try to keep their family members alive.
The country is in the grip of the very worst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the number of cases is getting close to 400,000 per day and deaths stand at over 3,000 per day. The country’s health system is broken, oxygen is in very short supply, medical equipment and PPE is becoming scarce.
There has always been quite a strong connection amongst scooter riders with India, it was the last country to build Lambrettas and many remade parts still come from there, like the Uni casings for instance. They also had Bajaj, LML, and various other classic machines and manufacturers.
MotoGB Just Giving page
Multi-brand bike and scooter distributor, MotoGB has a long history with Indian companies, with Royal Enfield and (now defunct) LML being just a couple of the Indian brands under their wing. The Chorley based company have launched a Just Giving page in association with their chosen charity, Ekam UK to raise funds to help with medical equipment and food supplies. You can give as little or as much as you like but it will all help this out of control humanitarian disaster.
