Launched just in time for summer touring, Euro rallies and of course the National rallies is this very practical 75-litre Moto Fizz camping seat bag. I’m a sucker for a good practical bag and have nightmares about packing up to load the scooter so I’m hoping this will be perfect for our two-week ride around Spain next month (providing you lot haven’t bought them all before I place my order).
75-litres of storage
The bag measures 35 x 62 x 35cm (and expands to 82cm wide) but can hold a generous 59 litres of kit, and a whopping 75 litres when expanded. It also has D-rings, elastic bungee cords and pull down straps on the outside, for securing extra items and keeping wet gear like tents and groundsheets separate.
As you can see in the photo above, the main storage area also has zipped flaps at each end for easy packing and unloading (plus of course making it easier to get that one item out that you thought you wouldn’t need during a long ride). The flaps also have stay straps to hold them vertically whilst unloading. Compression straps stop contents from shifting during riding.
The bag is constructed from a high-quality coated nylon outer shell and has a rain cover – stored in a dedicated wet compartment when not in use.
There’s also a removable belt pack, handy for carrying things like loose change, documents and other essentials needed close to hand, and an insulated water bottle holster.
Although it’s marketed as a seat bag it can also be used on a rear rack if you prefer. It’s said to be quicker and easier to use than panniers (plus you don’t have the increased wind resistance and wider load you get with panniers). The bag attaches to the bike using a versatile, secure and simple universal strap-on mounting system – either on the rear seat or a luggage rack. Finally, an integrated padded carry handle is also included to make carrying comfortable off the bike.
Take my money
The Moto Fizz Camping Seat Bag retails at £159 and is exclusive to Nippy Normans in the UK.
