This weekend (September 23-25th) sees Trofei Malossi team up with Kymco during World Malossi Day. The event is at the Adria International Raceway. Aside from a full programme of top-class scooter racing there will also be a special one make race class called ‘Kymco Event 2016’.
Using identically prepped Kymco Downtown 350s and twelve seasoned riders, from three continents the race should prove quite a spectacle. World Malossi Day is the most important scooter racing event of the year in Italy. It started a decade ago and is organised by Trofei Malossi – the mono-brand factory racing series. World Malossi Day is the coveted season finale, bringing in many riders from around the world.
The Kymco Event will include free practice, two qualifying sessions and the race itself, the winner will take away a very special prize. Due to its high-profile nature and international entry the race will be streamed live around the world. For a taster of World Malossi Day check out this multi-coloured, high-octane teaser video
What spec are the scooters?
The engine itself is a stock 350. Unfortunately we don’t get the Kymco Downtown 350 in the UK so it might be worth pestering your local dealer/Kymco if you’d like one.
The list of Malossi parts the race scooters will be using are all road legal, bolt-on parts. The parts list is as follows…
- Multivar 2000 variator kit
- Ventilvar 2000 half-pulley
- Racing clutch springs
- XK drive belt
- W box air filter
- TC unit lambda emulator
- Maxi Wild Lion exhaust
- Twins rear shocks
- Front & rear MHR SYNT brake pads
- Sports screen
