Fractional torque from Venhill | NEWS
Calm down boys, it’s ‘only’ a set of spanners! Well maybe it’s a bit more exciting than that, it’s actually a set of Venhill torque spanners and a wrench.
We’ve all been there, rebuilding an engine and we tighten a nut, give it that last little bit of final leverage and snap. The stud sheers. This set of torque spanners might just be what every bloke (or girl for that matter) needs for their garage.
Venhill are better known for their high performance hydraulic hoses and control cables but they’ve also been producing quality workshop tools for a while now. They’ve just introduced this professional grade Fractional Torque Spanner Set.
Whether restoring or maintaining a classic or modern machine, using a torque wrench helps owners to ensure that the machine’s fasteners are tightened to the correct specifications, which is particularly useful on older bikes and scooters, where there is a danger of bolts sheering if over-tightened.
This set comprises of the following ‘Versatile ‘crow-foot’ spanner attachments to fit into hard to reach places that conventional sockets can’t manage’. Although a metric set would be preferable to most scooter owners the torque spanners come in sizes 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″, 7/16″ , 1/2″, 9/16″, 5/8″ and 3/4″. A torque set range from 5-25 Nm (3.69-18.44 ft-lb).
To use, just slot in the required size spanner, set the torque pressure using the markers on the handle, lock-off and it’s ready to tighten. A 1/4″ square ratchet adapter, for use with sockets, is also included.
The VT86 Fractional Torque Spanner set costs £92.25, comes fully calibrated and is in its own protective case, get it on your Christmas list…
