BSRA #1 WHITBY – are you going? | NEWS
Easter seems to have crept up on us very quickly this year, even so, I’m sure most of you will have got those scooters prepped, fitted the snow chains and packed your thermals by now. The bi-annual trip to Whitby is upon us, a brisk ride up the A-roads is in order for me on a freshly built engine, trying to run it in without falling for the temptation of racing my friends is always a hard one.
What’s your steed?
Let us know what you’re riding, where you’re riding from and how many of you are travelling together. I’ll be on a little Spanish Lambretta Series 2, a scooter we’ll be doing a couple of features about soon on SLUK. It was ridden for the first time on British soil last Friday and has so far only covered about 70 miles.
Come and see the new SLUK Driver
We’ll be helping our friends out on the ScooterNova stall from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday in the custom show so pop over and see us. All being well we’ll be able to show you the very first complete Vespa PX SLUK Driver screen. The image above is a prototype but with any luck a ‘proper’ finished version will be on the stall on Saturday. We’ve been busy recreating this classic screen and it should be ready and on sale within the next week or so.
Also on the Scooternova stall, you’ll be able to buy their latest merchandise, grab yourself a free sticker, buy the magazine and either take out or renew a subscription. They’ll also be able to take payments by credit card so you don’t have to use your beer money. Or you can buy online from us here.
Stay safe
The forecast has been changing like the weather all week but the latest word from the Met Office is that there’s a yellow warning for snow (slightly different to warning you not to eat yellow snow) over the Easter weekend. Hopefully, it’ll miss the east coast but keep an eye on it (and for your route home) and stay safe. If the weather looks bad on Sunday consider staying an extra day. If it’s bad on Monday treat yourself to a winter’s holiday in Whitby. Don’t try to be a hero, getting there and back safely is the most important thing. We’ll see you there…
