It will come as no major surprise that VFM have announced that the first National of the 2021 season at Scarborough has been cancelled. Current Covid lockdown restrictions and the likelihood that pubs/hospitality may still be closed at Easter means there was no other option.
You can read the statement from VFM below. Does it mean we’re likely to be facing a similar disappointing year to 2020 as we wait for more events to be cancelled? We spoke to the various National Rally and larger event organisers to see what their feelings are. You can read all about it on SLUK tomorrow.
Unfortunately, due to current lockdown restrictions, and the likelihood of similar rules still being in place over the Easter weekend, we have, with heavy heart, decided to cancel the planned National Scooter Rally entertainment which was to be held at the Scarborough Spa complex, including the trade fair, custom show and evening entertainment.
Any tickets rolling over from Whitby 2020 are still valid and may be used at any of our events as and when we can get back up and running.
Having to cancel so many rallies in 2020 made it a very tough year, this news has compounded the situation and put a big dampener on 2021s forthcoming rally season.
However, we have to stay positive
All the best
