Are you a ULEZ winner? | COMPETITION
If you read our recent article about the new London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) and entered our competition then you may well be on your way to a free emissions test for your 2-stroke scooter. A pass will give you the freedom to ride in the city without paying £12.50 per day for the privilege.
That’s right, we discovered that most 2-strokes are under the 0.15 NOx limit, in fact, older (pre-Euro 3) four strokes are more likely to fail the emissions test. The sad thing is that if your scooter was made before Euro 3 came into force you’ll have to pay to prove it’s clean by either getting an exemption certificate (if it was ever tested) from the manufacturer (at a cost of £80) or the more likely scenario, by paying £175 for an emissions test.
Are you a winner?
Our winner is Larryo. His GP 200 isn’t old enough to gain Historic immunity and certainly doesn’t have Euro 3 or official NOx figures. ULEZ will affect the way he works.
Get in touch at editorial@ScooterLab.UK Larryo and we’ll sort your free emissions test out at the National Emissions Test Centre courtesy of Riverbank Motorcycles.
